DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Wednesday\, August 7th at 7:30am for Cape Henry Rotary in-person and via Zoom (link here). \nThis week\, we welcome Stephanie Clark and Nicole Hall\, board members from Paint Pink. \nFrom the Paint Pink website: Cancer is a diagnosis no one wants to hear.  Many of us have lost family members and dear friends to this hideous disease. Every 14 seconds\, somewhere in the world\, a case of breast cancer is diagnosed — a sobering statistic. Paint Pink is a non-profit founded in June 2023 by Kim Keene\, a breast cancer survivor\, and her supporters.  As a cancer survivor herself\, Kim knows all too well that many patients’ needs are not covered by insurance. \nPaint Pink’s mission is to support cancer patients with goods and services not covered by insurance so that they can focus on their battle with this disease. These goods and services include payment of bills\, legal fees\, personal care items\, house cleaning\, meal delivery\, and other aspects of daily living that need additional support. The uniqueness of each situation drives what support is given. \nPaint Pink volunteers have seen the havoc that a cancer diagnosis can rain down upon individuals\, families and friends. Lives get uprooted.  Plans get demolished. And it becomes about survival. SUMMARY:Cape Henry Rotary 40th Annual Oyster Crush
DESCRIPTION:Virginia Beach’s best party is back\, and local charities are again the beneficiaries! Welcome to the 40th annual Oyster Crush Fundraiser\, hosted by the Cape Henry Rotary Foundation\, which will occur on Sunday\, October 6\, 2024\, from 1 pm-6 pm at Ballyhoos Restaurant in Virginia Beach. \nSince 2015\, the event has raised over $340\,000 for local charities\, scholarships\, and youth programs in the Hampton Roads area. All-you-can-eat oysters\, raw or roasted over a wood fire\, steamed clams\, and a full meal including BBQ\, fried chicken\, and drinks will be served. You can dance all day to the music from local bands and DJs. \nThe Cape Henry Rotary Club was founded in 1984 and utilizes the Oyster Crush party to raise awareness and financial support for the club and its charities. Together\, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe in our communities and ourselves.
